Katie Baron is the author of “Archer the Therapy Dog ~ a Read Together Book”. Katie and Archer are a Therapy Dog team registered with Bright and Beautiful Therapy Dogs, Inc. They passed the exam to be a Therapy Dog team in October 2020 – the middle of the Covid 19 pandemic.
Archer, a lovable golden retriever, invites you and your child to join him on his journey as he becomes a Therapy Dog and makes visits to a library, a school, a nursing home, and a hospital. Together, you and your child will get to know Archer and learn what it takes to be a therapy dog team; the difference between Therapy Dogs, Service Dogs, and Emotional Support Dogs; how the Americans with Disabilities Act grants rights to each of these types of working dogs; and so much more.
What is a “Read Together” Book?
When I started writing Archer’s story, I wanted to write a book for kids, but kept bumping up against my need to provide accurate information.

Which is how the “read together book” came to be. When the book is opened, the page on the left is for kids and the page on the right is for grown ups. 📖

For young kids (or a quick bedtime story), the parent can read just the pages on the left.

Adults can read all the pages! They can either share them with their kids, paraphrase them, or leave them out completely. So many options!
